JR Sakaiminato Station is the terminal station of the JR Sakai Line. The Minato Sakai Exchange Center, situated right next to the station, includes an information center, restaurants, stalls, a sauna, bicycle rental and Wi-Fi. Buses to and from Matsue City are available at the bus terminal in front of the station, as well as the Hama Loop Bus which circles around Sakaiminato City. Mizuki Shigeru Road with its 100 bronze youkai (monsters of Japanese folklore) statues runs directly east from the station.
