When Nakamura 1 忠 had moved to Yonago as Hoki's country daimyo with a castle for Keicho six years (1601), it started for construction of a castle of the Yonago castle first.
Although the four-fold main tower was already built by the feudal-lord Kikkawa extensive house of 12 grain screens for 天正 19 years (1591), 1 忠 built the further fivefold major donjon, and became a famous castle of San-in 1 with name and reality.
However, it is sold off by slight money at the first time of Meiji, and only the stone wall remains now.
National park Daisen, Shimane-hanto, the inside sea, and Yonago can command a whole view, and it has become a walk course of citizens' relaxation from the summit of the mountain as a ground of natural beauty 絶佳.
