Matsue Castle
Matsue Castle was constructed under the local lord Horio Yoshiharu in 1611. The castle is nicknamed as 'the plover castle', reason being the outer wall is painted black. Matsue Castle is one of the 12 remaining castles as in the original wooden form in Japan. Panoramic view of Matsue City can be seen from the keep.
