The bridge is also known as 'Betabumizaka' meaning 'Acceleration Bridge' for its steep slope. It became popular because of the appearance in the TV commercial of Daihatsu Tanto Custom (car). It has a 6.1% slope in Shimane Prefecture side, and 5.1% slope in Tottori Prefecture slope.
