The museum is Japan's only open-air museum exhibiting sculptures made of "sand." The highest level of sand sculptures in the world are exhibited every year, inviting sandsculptors from around the world.

Access: Take a bus bound for Iwami Iwai Line at JR Tottori Station bus terminal. Get off the bus at Sakyu Higashiguchi bus stop and walk for 3 minutes.
Take Kirinjishi Loop Bus at JR Tottori Station bus terminal pltf 0. Get off the bus at Suna-no-Bijyutsukan-mae (The Sand Museum) bus stop and walk for 1 minutes.
